Welcome to my blog

Hi!

The weather is changing pretty fast out here in Seattle. Summer went by so fast and I didn't even notice that it's almost over. That's what happens when you live life the fast way like what my friends and I did during these past summer months. It was like there wasn't going to be any tomorrow. We were out most of the time, taking advantage of all the sunny days and weekends. We probably explored most of the the Pacific Northwest in 3 months flat! We've been to places even many Washingtonians who've lived here for years have never been to. It was fun while it lasted and now fall is beginning to reclaim the weather. Not too long from now, we'd be finding ourselves homebound for most of the following few months. Oh well, a good long rest will be very much welcome. It would be nice to recharge and get ready for next year's "lakwatsahan" again. But maybe next year we'd explore places outside the Pacific Northwest (except for the Gorge which is likely going to become an annual event! Wait for my Gorge story soon!).

I'm still trying to decide whether to post old writings from years and years ago which nobody has read before (or so I think) or post my most recent writings. But whatever I decide for my first entry, I hope I won't disappoint my readers!

Take care all and please do check back later.

Great! I've been waiting for you to publish some of your writings and it's finally here. Hey, can you post more of your crazy ideas---you know the ones that you spontaneously spurt during our occasional get-togethers. I'm sure they will make great topics for conversation. Baka sakali dito sa blog mahihiritan na kita. Peace! Miss you! - R!

Great work! Welcome message pa lang, thought-provoking na not to mention your opening story directly ties up with the blog title The Best OF What's Around. I used to wonder whether or not you actually really did want to move to Seattle far from all that you loved and enjoyed. You had a great life back home. Sabi mo nga, hindi boring buhay mo nung andun ka sa Pinas. I guess you are making the best of what's around. You're making the best of what Seattle has to offer while you can. Ang challenge ko sa iyo, after nito, ano na?

Arrrggghh u.c.c. the reason I was having seconds thoughts about publishing my thoughts in a blog was that I didn't think I was prepared for this kind of "exposition." But I welcome the comment and I welcome the challenge. And as for the answer to your question, I think I'll just keep it to myself for now.

P.S. Thanks for the concern!

post ko lang lyrics ng song for those who've never heard it before. - pancho

Best of What's Around
by Dave Matthews Band

Hey my friend
It seems your eyes are troubled
Care to share your times with me
Would you say you're feeling low and so
A good idea would be to get it off your mind

See, you and me
Have a better time than most can dream
Have it better than the best
And so can pull on through
Whatever tears at us
Whatever holds us down
And if nothing can be done
We'll make the best of what's around

Turns out not where but who you're with
That really matters
And hurts not much when you're around

If you hold on tight
To what you think is your thing
You may find you're missing all the rest
She run up into the light surprised
Her arms are open
Her mind's eye is

Seeing things from a
Clearer side than most can dream
On a better road I feel
So you could say she's safe
Whatever tears at her
Whatever holds her down
And if nothing can be done
She'll make the best of what's around

Turns out not where but what you think
That really matters
And hurts not much when you're around
